About me

I am a marine biologist and sustainability professional with a background in marine ecology, sustainability and education & training.

My work sits at the intersection of marine science, sustainability, business and education, helping organisations and learners understand complex marine and sustainability topics and translate knowledge into practical insights, learning experiences and meaningful action.

I work in English and Portuguese and collaborate with organisations, companies, universities and educational programmes.

Professional background

My marine background includes professional experience as a marine biologist and whale-watching guide, as well as work as a diving instructor. I have conducted environmental awareness activities, collected cetacean sighting data and worked directly with marine environments and the public.

My academic research focused on marine litter, involving field sampling, data analysis and scientific writing, and resulted in a scientific publication.

Alongside my marine science background, I have developed professional experience in sustainability, including the 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals, environmental and social sustainability, stakeholder engagement and maritime sustainability.

I have also worked on projects involving interaction with private-sector organisations, public authorities and policy, and have developed and contributed to technical documents, policy briefs, terms of reference, presentations, workshops and webinars.

My professional experience combines marine science and sustainability with research, training, scientific communication and stakeholder engagement.
